Introduction

Hello! My name is Michelle Wilfong and I am so excited to be taking this course. I will be posting various things throughout this semester and I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Educational Background: Graduated from Moorefield High School in 2011. Then went to WVU and graduated in December 2014 with my Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture & Extension Education. I began working on my Master's Degree in Fall 2015.

Professional Background: I began working at Pocahontas County High School in August 2015 and love it. While my passion is for agriculture, that job was not available at the time. Therefore, I took the job as the Library/Media Specialist. With this job, I am in charge of all virtual classes and occasionally do Credit Recovery. I also assist with the agriculture education courses and am still involved in the FFA Chapter. Even though I am not the ag teacher, I still get to go on all the trips. :)

Family & Friends: I grew up in Moorefield, WV and am an only child. We had poultry houses along with sheep, cattle and horses. I was actively involved in 4-H and FFA and served as the 2010-2011 WV State FFA Vice President my senior year in high school. I met my wonderful husband during this time and we got married on April 26, 2014. We built a log home together and I now currently reside in Dunmore, WV. We have 700 head of sheep, around 750 brood cows and background steers. We also have a blue heeler and 3 great Pyrenees. I love the farm life and wouldn't have it any other way :)

Interest & Hobbies: My husband and I enjoy showing at sheep and cattle shows. I raise club lambs and sell them to various 4-H and FFA members across the state. I am passionate about getting younger people involved in agriculture. I enjoy horse back riding with my mom (my husband hates horses so he won't ride with me).

The Big Picture: I took a few special ed classes at WVU but I am hoping this course will be informative and refresh my mind. It is my goal to get certified in this area in addition to agriculture education and library science.
